Oh sweet Ophelia, why must you leave us so early? May heaven watch you now. You were young and had much to live for. They say the people you love never leave. Maybe that's just the way I cope with losing you.
It will be hard to forget your joyful voice every morning as it fills the room with warmth. The memories you left behind will be remembered. The smile on your face that never leavest will be truly missed. The love you had was unlike anybody else.
They say she had gone mad and blamed that for her death. To me it is not her madness that led her to her death but the cause of her madness. She had found love but only to be told by her father to leave him. She obeyed of course. When she told her lover that they could not be together he told her that he never loved her in the first place. How stricken she must had been. To be told that she was never truly loved, would make any person go mad. And to make it much worst, her father's death. How she loved her father. And when she found out Hamlet was the one who murdered her father. she blamed it on herself. Because she believed she was the reason hamlet had gone crazy she believed it was her fault that Hamlet killed him.
They say it was suicide and that she does not deserve a proper burial. I say that is rediculous. Even if it was suicide one wrong should not over take everything good Ophelia has done. Ophelia would never do such a thing. She was an obedient girl who looked to please. She had drowned, and with that they automatically think it was intentional. The current was probably to strong, and the weight of her clothes pulled her down. To me the real fault should be pointed at Gertrude. Why question Ophelia's death when Gertrude was the one who saw her. Why hadn't she tried to help her. If she did she would still be here with us.
I know with all this I can not bring you back. It truly hurts that waking up and not seeing you anymore breaks my heart. For Ophelia we should not belittle her by an assumption that could be false but to remember has as sweet Ophelia. Before I say my final goodbye I want to say have happiness there where you could not here.
Love was a major factor in Ophelia's cause of death, because it was suppressed by her father who had asked her to leave Hamlet and all her feelings behind. Your eulogy really does show much sorrow and depressed feelings for Ophelia which makes it appeal more. If anything a suicidal death should not be treated any differently than a regular death and she does deserve to be buried as a true Christian. Suicide is a very serious and personal, but just because we cannot all die like a hero or a good person properly should not mean that we do not get a good burial.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, how stricken Ophelia must have been! A pain too unbearable for even the fair Ophelia to bear! A love for which was once requited brought to an abrupt end and then for it to be revealed that love twas never a factor! SHAMEFUL! As you said, how can we place the blame on Ophelia, pointing our fingers against the girl who'd gone mad, what about the woman who witnessed her, who watched, who allowed for her death to take place? What say her nlw!
